Sorry for the lengthy comment but wanted to give some depth from my first hand experiences. Ernst Reichmayr was also on hand to celebrate 150 years of the companys rich tradition, and to give a glimpse of whats ahead for the U.S. Selby’s name obviously gets around up and down the east coast. Years ago in the early 80’s, hunting in the Adirondacks, I remember hearing the name Randy Selby. Selby and I heard a couple guys in Florida talking about Selby rifles.
It was in my pursuit to research the best custom rifle makers in the country. It displays typical Steyr craftsmanship, attention to detail, and exemplary fit and finish. I’d rather pay more for custom.That’s how I discovered Randy Selby’s videos (that I can’t stop watching by the way). The Steyr Mannlicher Zephyr II is a beautiful rifle that possesses a fine degree of accuracy. The hit or miss factor doesn’t work for me any more. And my Rem 700 laminate stainless is ok(although I got lucky with it’s accuracy). My Browning A bolt Titanium doesn’t impress me either(composite sleeve on bolt was eh). Doss will be discussing his passion for training law enforcement and military professionals on the Lights, Sights & Lasers US Tour and how firearms from Steyr Arms positively impacts the program. Certainly they are more concerned about liability. I don’t think they polished chamber and lapped lugs- as I asked them to consider- and their have been scrape marks at base of rim on cases(maybe it’s an ejector/truing issue). My Kimber 8400 Super America’s bolt is hard to open after firing and their service was unsatisfactory cause it is still hard to open after firing. I will probably get a Sako 85 (walnut stock), but after that it is custom or semi custom for me. Heck the action on my Mitchell’s Mauser is as good as actions of some Deluxe factory rifles made today. Fine rifle for sure, but doesn’t come close to the Mannlicher Schonauer Model 1956 my grandfather gave me.
I bought a Steyr Mannlicher Classic in 30-06 in the 90’s. I despise the lower quality in materials production gun makers are using – even Deluxe Factory rifles. Please contact our LE / MIL sales representative at 20 or. From now on I will only go custom(maybe one more factory deluxe). Steyr Arms USA is available to outfit your agency directly, or through a participating Steyr Arms Law Enforcement dealer. But looks aren’t everything these days regarding Winchester. 50 is a single shot rifle which has been designed to meet the special requirements of precision shooters and law enforcement. Winchester not long ago came out with a Tiger striped super grade maple that looks great. upper barrel and a lower barrel chambered in.
A shotgun/rifle combination gun, the Duett features a 12 ga. Beautiful work- I love those striped maple stocks. Steyr has added a classic design to its line with its the new Duett.
